Birmingham Rathbone's service users have different needs and support requirements, but will find one or more of our services which will help them gain confidence and achieve their goals.

As an employee you may be interested in our Learning, Skills and Employment provision, where you may be in a position to support people to improve their literacy and numeracy, access further education or training, gain nationally recognised qualifications or gain and sustain open employment.  Alternatively you may be interested in working in Birmingham Rathbone's Housing and Supported Living provision, supporting tenants and service users to lead lives that are as independent as possible.

Training and Development

Birmingham Rathbone is committed to achieving high quality standards of service provision, to enable people with learning difficulties to achieve their goals and aspirations.  We believe that we will only achieve this aim if we invest in all of our people.  We are therefore proud to continue to be recognised as an Investor in People, providing a framework that supports and encourages staff to improve their performance, through training and development.

You receive an application form, job description and person specification, notes for applicants, a covering letter, confirming the position, its location and the closing date. You will also receive Birmingham Rathbone's Mission Statement, equal opportunities monitoring forms and information about the organisation.

The Job Description : lists the purpose of the job, the duties and the responsibilities.

The Person Specification: gives details of the experience, skills and abilities needed to carry out the duties.  Every completed job application form we receive  will be compared against the person specification.  When you completed the application form, you should use examples which demonstrate how you posses the essential experience, skills , abilities and other requirements listed in the person specification.

The Application Form: enables the recruitment panel to decide whether you will be invited to an interview.  The recruitment panel will compare your application for to the person specification.  They will nor make any assumptions but will only recognise experience, skills, abilities and other requirements from the completed application form.
